Yes. If it’s marlin fishing, it’s catch and release. We remove the hook and release it back into the water.
For tuna, mahi mahi, or cod, you can keep the catch and have it prepared onboard, or bring it back if you’d like a restaurant on the island or your hotel to prepare it.
On a typical one-day charter, you can visit different islands and islets, such as Floreana, Pinzón Island, and Santa Fe Island, which are some of the top spots in the Galápagos for snorkeling, seeing sea lions, and enjoying beaches. There are also other pristine sites, unique beaches, and bays throughout the Galápagos.
Our boats include pick-up. Although they depart from the main pier in Puerto Ayora, Santa Cruz Island, the departure time depends on the activity. For most activities, we usually leave between 7:30 and 8:00 AM and return between 4:00 and 6:00 PM.
For fishing charters, the schedule varies: we typically depart between 4:50 and 5:00 AM, since we need to navigate to the fishing grounds for marlin, giant tuna, and wahoo.
Depending on the site and the activity, if the charter is to visit uninhabited islands and is more focused on exploring pristine areas of the Galápagos, birdwatching, beaches, and snorkeling, it will include everything needed for that activity, such as fins, mask and snorkel, wetsuits, snacks, lunch, and soft drinks, plus water, tea, coffee, and milk, fruit, and towels.
If the charter is for fishing, all fishing gear is also included. Depending on the type of fishing, the equipment will vary, whether for marlin, tuna, wahoo, mahi-mahi, or bottom fishing closer to shore.
In any case, we coordinate all details before each activity to meet all our guests’ requirements.
